Epic!
This album is my current fall playlist! I saw Lucy for the first time with the Civil Wars in Athens and then the next night in Decatur, GA. I was so excited to see her again. She is extraordinary! This album just wraps you up in her talent and her matter of fact letters. She is a true talent. My personal favorites are graveyard, rain city, and my darling. The way she uses multiple melody lines and then fuses them on top of eachother is brilliant! I am also stoked that there are the bonus tracks. Seven hours was one of my absolute favorites of her live show so I am thrilled to have the full track now! Way to go Lucy...you music is like home!
Life in Letters
I heard Lucy Schwartz open at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco for The Weepies last October. I hadn't heard of her but was absolutely amazed by her voice and her lyrics. I had chills the entire time she sang and bought her cd that night. I love this compilation of songs and my playcount for "My Darling" "Life in Letters" & "Those Days" is embarrassing. Listen to one song and you too will fall in love with Lucy.
As if by luck...
Found this artist (and album) through the ad space on facebook, and it was love at first note. Have collected almost all the rest of her work, and love every second of it. Went to see her in concert and was blown away by such talent, especially when considering her first album ("Winter in June") was released when she was just sixteen. I look forward to future releases, concerts, and collaborations soon!
