West coast CCM outfit Press Play's high-energy debut dutifully evokes lead vocalist/songwriter David Hanley's vision for a hip, technologically advanced, 21st century ministry. The band's huge, multimedia stage show was born in 2001 in the Echo Park district of Los Angeles at the Angelus Temple's Dream Center, an inner city house of worship that serves as a spiritual rehabilitation center for everyone from gang members and drug addicts to unwed mothers, former convicts, and AIDS patients. The aptly titled Life Is Beautiful is chock-full of the kind of slick, urban, teen, synth pop that would sound great through the "line-array speakers, 52-foot panoramic screen, LED stage panels" and massive sound system that the band cites as its divine delivery system. Think Up with People for the X-box generation.

Uplifting!
This is the kind of album that you don't tire of. I've been hearing their songs live for months now and it's nothing short of contagious. 'Angels Sing' makes me weep with joy and humility. 'Break it Out' make me jump. 'Sound of Love' gives you the electronic feel. Each song is unique and isolated, don't miss the experience on buying the entire album. Bless Press Play and Dream Center!

I truly believe that Press Play will soon be a household name among christian bands. They'll be mentioned up there with Hillsong, Relient K, Chris Tomlin, Jars of Clay; you name it! I can honestly say that their music is one of a kind. There's nothing wrong with traditional christian music, but everything must modernize to be relevant today. That is exactly what Press Play does with their unique rock/pop sound. Lots of guitar, synth, and rockin' tunes. Most of all, they do it 100% for God! Press Play, keep rockin!!
