Album Review

The Planet Smashers' third album, Life of the Party has more than enough catchy tunes and skanking ska grooves to help the record live up to its title; the group offers its warped sense of humor to go along with a set of fairly consistent songs, among them "Super Orgy Porno Party" and "All Men Fear Women."

Glad to see these cats on iTunes!

I first heard this band's song "Life of the Party" on an episode of Radio Free Roscoe. Awesome ska-tacular grooves. If you dig Reel Big Fish, Pietasters, Mighty Mighty Bosstones and the bands that were The Hippos(oh yeah!) and Five Iron Frenzy (yeah, they were sweet too), you'll love the Planet Smashers

Straight Up...

These guys are fantastic at making straight up ska tunes. They've never tried to change to please new trends, they're just a great band making enjoyable music.

Not A Bad One On This Album.

I am one of those guys who has to have every song of every artist they like, even if I am not a huge fan of the music. When I picked this album up a few years back album it was the first album in a long time that I listened to all the way through without a single complaint. All of these songs are amazing. Their horn section is awesome and they don't play simple mediocre horn lines like alot of these punk-ska bands. This album has 2 purley instrumental tracks that prove the horn sections greatness (Trouble In Engineering & Kung Fu Master). These songs will be stuck in your head forever, mainly Super Orgy, Too Much Attitude, Whining, and Shame. Basicly these guys are a well rounded ska-pop band with catchy hooks and great instrumentals. Once you listen, you will have to go and buy ALL of their other albums like I did. Buy this album!
