Uncompletely amazing.

firstly... to the latest reviewer- THIS IS NOT A NEW CD. THIS IS A LIVE CD, THAT IS DIFFERENT FROM NEW. my chem's new album is expected to be due out around october, they're recording the overdubs now. The title says it all- I've yet to watch the DVD twice over, but from my first viewing I can say 'WOW'. Of course, the Diary doesn't do much but go more in-depth on things that any good My Chem fan with internet would know, and there aren't many candid shots, but overall the thing is truly amazing. My favorite parts would have to be the reel of all the times Bob hit the camera, the mini-bios on each member, and the in-depth look and Gerard's rockbottom time of drug use. His pants come off in several places, and it will leave the fangirls squealing and the sensible fans guffawing. You will also see Ray's flattened hair and the journey the band took into becoming the whole new band they are today- a sober Gerard, a new drummer (BOB!) and a renewed ethic and enthusiasm for the music they make. The second DVD contains live performances. All are marvolous exhibits of My Chem's remarkable energy channeled in their live performances. Gerard looks rather wasted in the Live at Launch performances of Helena and I'm Not Okay (I Promise) but they're wonderful nonetheless (there seems to be some strange camera effect that sends red bolts of light across the screen at random moments. Hmm.) The AOL sessions are exquisite in sound quality and camera quality both, and filled to the brim with energy; the performance of 'You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us In Prison', especially, will leave you feeling like you drank a case of Red Bull and chased it with a few liters of Mountain Dew. The 'Making of' of all of their videos are included, and these feature more candid moments than practically the video diary itself (all two hours of it). You will get to see the twenty times Frank Iero jumped out of a locker to scare a girl in the INO video, (and the numerous short jokes associated with him even being able to FIT inside a locker) You will get to witness the pouring rain and the rousing chorus of fans, and even more Frankie short jokes in the making of 'Helena'. You will be privileged enough to see the timeless look on Gerard's face as Mikey states, 'My favorite part of the video was dying.' You will get to see Ray's hair flattened into a tiny ball, limiting the camera shots of him. You will get to see this and many other (slightly disturbing) occurances. Just get this at Best Buy now, though- it's on sale for the first week of release at $14.99. The live CD is of remarkable sound quality and contains the band's live performance energy. Bury Me In Black was previously a demo, only available on the Japanese release of Three Cheers and select online sources. Desert Song is amazing, and is also from the Three Cheers sessions- it contains happiness and sadness all in one, that queer (strange, you perverts!) feeling of the calm before the storm, that something monumentally horrid is about to happen but you feel amazing anyways. In the one day I've had it, it's play count has already reached 100+. Even the album art on this is remarkable- just look inside and see the identical shots- ones without blood on the discs, the ones with blood under the discs, and more... But the most remarkable thing about this release is something sure to bring tears of gratitude and happiness to the faces of MCR fans everywhere, a mere liner note- "You hold in your hands the story of five kids who have had their dreams come true. We would like to dedicate this release to our families and loved ones who've believed in us from the beginning. To all of our friends who work tirelessly to keep MCR dangerous. And to the fans... this is for you. Thank you from the bottom of our black little hearts for staying so pure, so passionate and so strong. Your belief in us is immeasurable and for that we love eternally. XOXO- MCR" If you aren't in tears by the end Life On The Murder Scene... well, let's just say your heart is colder than the band members claim their own to be. Even though after watching this, you'll know they're anything BUT cold. ;-)

3 Cheers for Life on the Murder Scene

The CD gave me chills. Most of the songs are either on Bullets or Revenge, but Desert Song made me shiver. It's just that good. Gerard's voice sounds better than usual, and perfectly on key. Everything is so well put together!! That's not even including the DVD, which chronicles the band from start to the present. It's two hours long, which is too much if you're not an obsessed fan, but every second is captivating. Thankfully, I AM an obsessed fan. This 3 disc CD/DVD combo is definitely worth the buy. 5 stars all the way.

New Jersey Rock!

My Chemical Romance brings a new light to the rock scene! Since day one I haven't been able to put the record down. Now comes along a live assortment. It makes me want to throw my chair across the room and run around in circles pretending that I'm in the middle of a show. Keep it up boys! Keep it up!

Biography

Formed: 2001 in Newark, NJ

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '00s, '10s

With their emo-punk songwriting, theatrical vocals, and neo-goth appearance, My Chemical Romance rose from the East coast underground to the forefront of modern rock during the early 2000s. In keeping with the tragic element of the group's best-known singles — including "Helena," "I'm Not OK (I Promise)," and "Welcome to the Black Parade" — My Chemical Romance has roots in catastrophe, as frontman Gerard Way decided to form the band after watching the World Trade Center collapse on September...
