Absolutely Awesome Band
The Yellowjackets are without a doubt one of the most influential jazz bands of the last 25 years. One of my first albums was a Yellowjackets album and this new CD is continuation of a grand legacy of excellence.
Great album!
Listen to the album without expectations. Jazz groups don't stay the same. The first Yellowjackets recording in 15 years to feature a guitar player. Mike Stern weaves artfully in and out of the numerous compositional elements. The Yellowjackets presents material that showcases their skill in a distinctive and definitive fashion. Many selections here are among my favs: For instance Claire's Closet and Lazaro. Another great album.
