In a time where pop culture is getting a little stale, these two songs from Francis and the Lights remind you of how exciting and special it is to find new music from real artists with real perspective. 'LIME' is infectious from the opening riff. It's easy to say that it reminds you of early 1980's soul, but as you make your way through the track, you're constantly presented with a sonic landscape that evokes the past but moves us into the future, led by Francis Farewell Starlite's sincere vocals. 'WYN' might even be more impressive solely for the fact that across the 2:32 running time, the track manages to take us from excitement, to pensive reservation, to a sense of loss and loneliness.
