Tremendous Effort from an Emerging New Artist
Sam Thacker is undeniably one of the most promising new artists on the Southeast music scene - and with the official debut of "Lines," he's quickly going to explode onto the national scene. "Lines," like Thacker's debut album "Above the Underneath," sparkles with mature, intelligent songwriting. With melodies that you'll be humming for days and a killer voice that separates him from today's dearth of singer-songwriters, "Lines" is brimming with audio gems. From the angry plaintive wail of "Yes" to the sing-along fun of "Ashes," the mid-twenties anthemic "Tonight" to the romantic closer "The Last," Sam and his band deliver over and over again.

A chance lunch in Piedmont Park
Sitting having lunch in Piedmont Park with a friend at today's Art Festival, I was suddenly drawn to the singer who was playing in the background.
I didn't know it was Sam Thacker playing, but I was absolutely and so drawn to the melodies, that I had to ask his name.
This guy is the Southeast's John Mayer.
