Amazing Album
I ran across this group while looking through iTunes to find the best versions of "Mean to Me." Linnzi (I assume) nails the vocals on these songs giving the listener the impression of well-intentioned music. Sadly, many jazz artists grab a certain instrument or vocal quality and fail to let go, but this band seems unswayed by the prospect of instant fame with a lesser audience. The leads are well balanced and dovetail nicely with the nostalgic simplicity of this album. The vocalist seems to know when to drag a note out and also when to let it fade and a talented band accomplishes those great lead switches that we all love. Again... absolutely amazing album.
Awesome singer...
Seen in the setting of the Three Muses in New Orleans really takes you back to what it must have been like in the '30 and '40s. At least that is how I felt while there, sipping a beverage while listening to Linnzi and the band.
I had bought a Cd after the show when we were there last May. We had a great time there on the musical side of town.
Now when I listen to Linnzi on my ipod it takes me back to that hot spring week.
Linnzi has a very distinguishing voice and a lovely personality.
I would recommmend this to anyone who appreciates a slow sounding song with a great band and a memorable singer. Music in the old world style when horns were in fashion and bands really were part of the music not just there for the singer as a back up. Slow and sultry.
