Luquid Mind Revisited

I own two CDs by Liquid Mind, and they are both soothing and dronefully musical. They radiate a calm, warm ambience, and I'm very glad I added them to my music collection. When I saw they had come out with "Sleep", I quickly sampled all the songs, hoping for something to distinguish it from the music by Liquid Mind that I already had. My hopes had been that Liquid Mind would have composed more ambient, relaxing music but with some changes in synthesizer instrumentations - hopefully not the same type of synth drones prevalent on their other CDs. Well, I was sadly mistaken. If you don't have any Liquid Mind in your collection, get this. It's as good as any of the rest of what they do. It's just not very distinguised in its conception and musical form.

Spacious, healing, soothing...

With the eighth release in this series, Liquid Mind "Sleep" delivers music that's explored spacious, healing, soothing aural realms since 1994. "Sleep" is simply gorgeous... a cathedral made of sound. The composer states on his website (liquidmindmusic.com) that the album is primarily designed to assist and honor the need in all of us for quality rest. While "Sleep" lives up to its title and purpose, I encourage listeners to experiment with the album in other settings. I've found another benefit in "Sleep" ...and all albums in this body of work. I live in a hectic, fast-paced, deadline driven world. I've found that listening to Liquid Mind music while working helps me stay calm and focussed... even with jobs dedicated to sending my blood pressure through the roof. I've observed this effect in clients who visit my studio while Liquid Mind music is playing. We make good work and enjoy the process more. After a recent medical procedure, I was very pleased to hear Liquid Mind music in the recovery room. Its calming effect after a stressful procedure was profound. Five stars. Highly recommended.

Not just the most beautiful album I've ever heard, but easily the most relaxing. Completely functional music that will help you sleep peacefully.

Liquid Mind is an alias used by Los Angeles-based composer/producer/instrumentalist Chuck Wild, who was born and raised in Kansas City, studying classical piano and singing in both a cappella groups and choirs. His love for music only intensified as he studied music history at the University of Kansas, where he also sang in the university choir. He next spent four years in the U.S. Navy...
