A warm and intimate album about real people
It's possible that I'm just prejudiced in favor of Vanessa Peters because I had the pleasure of catching a live performance (at the Purple Fiddle in Thomas, W VA). I really enjoy both the songs and the smooth warmth of the voice that sings them. "Amelia", "Bonnie & Clyde", and "Fireworks" are particularly good. The theme underlying the album (life portrayed as a small-budget indie movie) is a good metaphor for the little dramas that are a part of every life (even one as boring as mine!).
vanessa peters is awesome!
I had the luck to spend 3 months living in a small town in italy and vanessa worked at the bar in our study center. there was a great bar in town that had live bands on wednesdays and v.p. and ice cream on mondays played a few concerts. they were all really good and vanessa is great on stage. unfortunatly the one thing missing from this album is her bands cover of From Such Great Heights, i have heard every version avaliable, but their's is by far and away the best! No one, and i mean no one, rocks out that song like Ice Cream on Mondays! Common Vanessa, lets see it on the second album! ciao bella!
