Perfect from the first note to the last
I heard one verse and one chorus of this song while riding in the car and immediately came home to iTunes to find it, was so glad it was here already! Beautiful melody, and the lyrics are so touching. I am a fan of Rob Thomas, but as great as his previous songs have been, (Ever the Same was my past favorite of his) this song is truly amazing. There is something about the pitch and the production that just make my brain happy(I have perfect pitch). This is exactly what a pop ballad should be. Have been listening to it on a loop all week, just love it. Had no idea that it was from a Disney movie upon first listen, should have known though. As a Disney fan as well I find that it continues in the tradition of "I'm Still Here" by John Rzeznik, "You'll be in my heart" by Phil Collins and "Circle of Life" by Elton John as songs from Disney movies that stand alone as great music as well. Can't wait to hear the rest of the sountrack. Thanks, Rob. Just perfect.
This must be about my little boy Jack
I know that it is not, but this song is the story of the birth of my child Jack. He was born 10 weeks early and his Mom nearly died bravely bringing him into the world. As I write this, Jack is in the NICU and benefiting from every "small hour." I only wish that Rob Thomas knew that he saved my life by saving my sanity by writing a song that made me feel less alone. I cry tears of joy every time I hear this song and hope that it is one that gets overplayed because I need those tears so much right now. I need that joy. I am sorry to be so ridiculous and vent my grief and angst and joy in a song review...
