say goodnight, mean goodbye.

this cd captures every bit of their live performances. i was fortunate enough to see them in a VERY intimate setting after the release of Something To Write Home About. ever since then i've gone to every one of their live shows, missing only ( sad to say) their final tour. Seeing them that first time completely changed how i listened and percieved music. they were SO accessable and so friendly. they even stuck around to talk for a bit after the show. I think you get the impression a bit from this cd... although it doesnt have enough of that "between song" converstion with the crowd that often occurs. if youre a get up kids fan... you dont need to read this. you've already bought it. you do, however, need to pray for a comeback or at the very least a reunion tour.

Thanks For Ten Awesome Years

Wow, TGUK you guys have canged my life for ever. You were the ones who first got me into indie rock, and you guys have serious talent. In a world with Rap music that provokes sex and voilence, you guys are my rope to hang on. Stay Gold Ponyboy has to be my favorite song of all. Good luck with The New Amsterdams, and Reggie and The Full Effect. Thanks for making talented music indierobot

TAKES THE CAKE!!

Of all the live cds ive owned, this one gets listened to the most. the set list spans their entire career, and still fits together perfectly. "Coming Clean" starts it all like they did with their first release and ends with the appropriate "Is there a way out." the get up kids gracefully found their way out and DID have a huge impact on what rock music is today.
