PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW: He's Back....

I am an avid listener of James Hall and have all of his albums which I study in great detail. I will say that this is not his greatest of the discography, but he has certainly brought a fresher sound. He has incorporated some studio tracks, and he is more vocal on the album as well. WAP has taken it to the next level. They obviously mastered every thing that James threw at them and each harmonic progression is executed to perfection. Nothing is ambiguous. As for the band...well...Melvin Crispell, John Peters, Reggie Young, etc. I think that's enough said. No other band in gospel like them--NONE!!! I think it's an overall good album. However, warning, this album is not for the average listener, in fact, I recommend that if you're trying this artist for the first time, archive some of the previously recorded material, other wise, many of these tracks, you may not even understand. By the same token, he still has some good old fashioned "churchy" songs. Buy it!!!

TRY IT

You must be an avid listener of gospel music to appreciate James Hall's latest piece. While this may not be his best album it is definitely worth purchasing if you appreciate James Hall's unique style. After listening to it over and over again I found myself appreciating more of the tracks on the album especially the slow tracks. Tracks like "D Down in My Heart" and "Praise" will have have you singing and bopping along. Other tracks like "That Shall He Reap" with having you thinking about the scriptures that they are based on. James Hall has not compromised his style to today's changes in gospel music and remains as one of the top song writers/musicians/composers of today's gospel music generation. Try it!!
