If you haven't seen him live...

....Live from Austin TX is a great substitute. Probably one of REK's best live performances, a close second to No. 2 Live Dinner, this album makes you feel like you're sitting in the bar watching the show. If you've heard or seen a REK show you know about his songwriting and style, and Live from Austin TX shows that well and includes songs recorded after No. 2 Live. It says something about a guy that plays and sings so well, with such a dedicated following, but doesn't want to become too big or commercial. His venues are always small and intimate and keeps everything about the music. If you're thinking of buying it, you should.

REK is always a good choice

TEXAS music owes a lot to REK, arguably the leader of the movement since Jerry Jeff retired! This is one of the more inclusive albums and much of the music here is easier to "hear" than some of the recordings REK has done....especially "the road goes on forever". "Feelin Good Again" and "Dreadful Selfish Crime" are both exceptional. Buy this album

Great Live dose of Robert

If you have not had the opportunity to see him or you just want to relive the show, this is the album to buy. Also this has all the good stuff on it. If you are looking for a best of, that really has the best of, here you have it.

These two song types in Keen's output were unified by a mordant sense of humor that strongly influenced the early practitioners of what would become known as alternative country music. Keen, the son of an oil executive father and an attorney mother, was a native...
