Easily the best album of the past few years
Over the past few years hip-hop fans have come accustomed to the hip-hop they were fed to listen to.... beats created by sound engineers and lyrics written by highly paid ghostwriters. This isn't how it was, and by the sound of Live From Iraq, it isn't how it will be. Written and recorded entirely in Baghdad, Iraq, this album is political and emotional while without losing lyrical superiority. The flow is tight, beats hard, and lyrics home-hitting... especially for those who have or are currently serving in Iraq. To see an un-cut, un-spun, and fair and balanced if I may, this is the album that will paint a picture of what's going on in Iraq without the media bias.
About time
Best rap album I've heard in years. 4th25 tells our story. If you are actually working in Iraq - not just eating ice cream on some FOB - this is for you. Captures everything you feel but haven't been able to put into words. If you haven't served in Iraq and want to hear the truth of the American experience this album will get you closer than any news story.
Disturbingly Good
This album is increabily powerful. Throughout this war, the American public has been isolated from the travails of our soldiers. If you want a window into the reality of their experience, you should listen to this album. It is a raw and emotional presentation of the muddled actuality of war. This album will influence your perspective on the Iraq war. I cannot reccomend an album more highly.
