SCI "On The Road" 8/19/01
Summer 2001 was a special time for The String Cheese Incident. The Summer tour started in late June, as the band went coast-to-coast for the next 2 months. Memorable stops included the band's first 2-night run home at Red Rocks, a special show at Summerstage in Central Park, the Austin City Limits TV taping, followed by the band's first Las Vegas run, and then a run up the west coast from Santa Barbara to Berkeley, to Mt. Shasta, and finishing off at Hornings Hideout outside of Portland. Two more shows followed after Hornings, both back on the east coast at the Summit Music Festival in Mariaville NY. The 8/19/01 performance is the final night of this epic 2 month tour and we know you're going to enjoy listening to this one!
Thank you for the 2001 Archive Releases
After the Fall tour of 2000 no more soundboard taping was allowed at SCI shows. It wasn't until 4/4/02 that we saw our first "On The Road" release. Of course there are a few Soundboards that leaked through the cracks onto the Live Music Archive and a couple of "On the Road Archive" releases for anywhere from $12.95 - $14.95 from 2001. So then along comes this for 17.99 plus tax and Louisville 4/26/01 17.99 plus tax. Personally I am not going to complain about the price at all. I would pay 17.99 for all 2001 shows if they were released. Nice fat shows with no nonsense songs. If you are not convinced yet just got to the live Music Archive and stream the Rollover from the audience recording there and put it up against the Rollover from this release. Thanks to SCI Itunes and whoever else is responsible for these 2001 releases keep em comin I will buy them.
