Album Review
Originally released in Japan as a double album, this live set was unavailable in the U.S. until 1995. So cleanly recorded (the drums are especially crisp) that one is tempted to believe these tracks might have actually been laid down in the studios, it has a speedy, frenetic, well-executed edge that makes this worth checking out by Ventures fans. Seventy minutes of material, including most of their big '60s hits, covers of then-contemporary surf and British Invasion tunes, and surprises like "The Pink Panther Theme" and a 10-minute version of Duke Ellington's "Caravan."

by Grimmbo.."Driving Guitars Are Here To Stay!"..No words can express how this "Instrumental-Twangy-Surf-Rock" took over all the AM Radio & Jukeboxes of the early 1960's! {So satisfying to see The Ventures finally enshrined in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame!} (Looking more today like Adjunct Professors Of Musicology than those Beat-Crazed Surfers of yesteryear; "The Boys" turned in a smokin' set for the 2008 Induction Ceremony!) The Ventures' Musical Legacy can still be heard in any guitar-based Metal, Drone, Industrial & Punk Rock Groups World-Wide! ( Wonderful to hear them praise the twin legacies of Les Paul & Chet Atkins; Names not mentioned much any more; But anybody twanging a guitar now owes them a debt of gratitude!)-"Twang On!"...by Grimmbo.
