Welcome to the music industry, Kris Allen!
The newest mainstream artist to come into the music industry, Kris Allen, truly proves his worthiness towards being able to create music with this song. Stretching out of his comfort zone and crossing all boundaries created by him, he covers Irish rock band The Script's song at a very clean-cut angle and incredibly intricate vocal control. This single will carry Allen through to the release of his debut album on November 17. With "Live Like We're Dying", Kris Allen has justified America's pick of becoming the most recent American Idol winner.
Disappointed
Just a cover of the Script, even the performance is same. Totally no originality
A song as catchy as the singer
I started watching Idol this season because no one would keep quiet about Adam. The reason I bring this up is that Kris Allen grew on me from the first time I saw him perform on the show. By the time I saw them both live in concert, I was just as big of a Kris fan as I was an Adam fan. Kris has that type of charisma; an easy charm that you can't fight and soon can't stop thinking about. The same phenomenon holds true with his first single, Live Like We're Dying. The rhythym is catchy and driving; the vocals masterfully and honestly performed. Yeah, I know it's a cover and it sounds similar to the original. Who cares? Kris sounds fantastic, the song suits him, and most importantly it casts him as a pop artist rather than the more safe singer-songwriter route. I cannot wait to hear the rest of his album. Very impressive, Mr. Allen. Most Impressive.
