iTunes Review

With all the baggage and negative publicity she receives, it's easy to forget how powerful Courtney Love could be as a rocker. From the beginning, her voice could peel paint, and her songs felt like they came from the deepest recesses of her soul. Anger, frustration, and madness oozed from her like blood from an open wound. Live Through This is Love's single greatest moment, where all that pathos and passion intersect with strapping hard rock. The debate that still simmers over whether Kurt Cobain helped her write this album is moot. Without a doubt, undeniably devastating and one of the best rock records of the '90s.

from start to finish, it is the best thing of the 90s. "some day you will ache like i ache" is only a fraction of the pain in this album. "doll parts" is only one beautiful song. you have to listen to the whole thing, every song, to know the true intensity of this album. i can't tell you how much this it can change you. it's like a scar, a really really good scar, that only you will see..well unless you want to show everyone your scar like me. here we go!
1. violet - great way to start. some writen for kurt and some writen about a love letter. screaming rage and soft melodies combine in the perfect way to make this song.
2. miss world - my favorite. beautiful, soft, innocent, perfect. you can do so much with three power chords.
3. plump - talks about childhood. one of the harder songs on the album and yet one of the best. well everything is the best.
4. asking for it - one of my favorite songs ever. with a great bass line and that one line that you'll never forget. easily about kurt "if you live through this with me, i swear that i will die for you."
5. jennifer's body - about the movie boxing helana. harcore chorus and haunting bridge.
6. doll parts - do i even have to say? everyone loves this song. writen about kurt and the worry that he wouldn't like her. "i wanna be the girl with the most cake" meaning she wants kurt the most.
7. credit in the sraight world - a cover that i say they did awesomely.
8. softer, softest - one of the softer songs on the album but still amazing. "pee girl get's the belt" refering to what her father called her. theres my favorite line "burn the witch, just bring me back her head."
9. she walks on me - mostly awesome screams that haunt you. seriously it stays in your mind forvever. but that doesn't mean its bad! it incredable
10. i think that i would die - eerily soft in the begining but slowly raises untill you reach one of the most famous phrases in the english language "F**K YOU!"
11. gutless - like plump: one of the harder song on the album but one of the best
12. rockstar - changed at the last minute because of kurt death from "olympia" to "rockstar" writen about how every riot grrrl is the same. they tried so hard to be diffrent, they just become the same. SUUPER fun to play.

Well I haven't really listened to a lot of their songs but I was looking for the song Asking for it ft. Kurt Cobain becasuse I heard it somewhere so I bought the song thinking he was on it and it sounded like the song but when it came to the part where Kurt And Courtney were supposed to start singing together the song ended so I was pretty dissapointed just wanted you guys to be aware of that it's a really nice song though but I thought Kurt and Courtney sounded great together...

"I love him so much it just turns to hate..."

Formed: 1989 in Los Angeles, CA

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '90s, '00s

Throughout Hole's career, vocalist/guitarist Courtney Love's notorious public image has overshadowed her band's music. In their original incarnation, Hole was one of the noisiest, most abrasive alternative bands performing in the early '90s. By the time of their second album, 1994's Live Through This,...
