Wedding Music

Honestly, when I first saw this tape in the eighties I thought it was some screwed up wedding music. But the cover was enticing. So....when I brought it home, I remember my mom yelling for me to close the door to my room, cause I was cranking it. GREAT example of trash metal. Fire and Brimstone, Hell No were staples for me and my friends...well ok, only one of my friends liked this one, and he was even more scared of it then I was. Really it was scary. AND forbidden. GREAT memories!!!

thak you dale, troy and company for years of satisfaction!

i started with dallas, amy, evie and sandi, then leon, david, russ and mylon, then petra, D&K and whiteheart- but THIS, THIS was amazing power and conviction and I could NOT QUIT LISTENING. hell no, fire and brimstone live to die and certainly Heroes stand out here as prophetic arrows to the later genious of phsycadelic super jesus and the career peak of snakes in the playground. Like Rez Band and others in CCM, this band set it's own rules, paved it's own way and held tightly to it's core beliefs...to this day. thank you guys for ALL you have done for the kingdom.

This used to scare my sister

I remember getting this when I was out visiting my grandparents in California. I was blasting it in my walkman while leaving the store when my grandparents said "that's awful loud, why don't we just put it in the car stereo". So I reluctantly gave it to them at which point we made it through about half a song. I enjoyed listening to the rest of it loudly through my headphones on the way home. This is such a bizarre combination of Glam/Dark/Power Metal that occasionally branches into thrash. It was really pretty unique when it came out and still really is. I'd say that the album highlights are Metal Might, Live to Die, Fire and Brimstone, Whiskey Seed, Here Comes the Bride and Heros. Live to Die and Here Comes the Bride boarder on thrash which in my book is always ok. The riffs boarder on reckless giving them a sense of danger which I always found appealing. The sound scapes that are in Whiskey Seed and Heroes also painted a very vivid mental images that were truly artistic. I can honestly say that I loved this album. Although it does show it's age it's a great one for the collection.

Biography

Formed: 1983 in Louisville, KY

Genre: Rock

Years Active: '80s, '90s, '00s

Unlike many of their Christian metal colleagues of the '80s (Stryper, Barren Cross, etc.), Louisville, Kentucky's Bride continue to preach their message of faith, uninterrupted by personnel and stylistic about faces, going on two decades now. Originally calling themselves Matrix, brothers Dale (vocals) and Troy Thompson (guitar) began writing songs as early as 1983, but it would take them three years of anonymous labor — recording demos to sell at concerts and through Contemporary Christian...
