Includes RORY GALLAGHER, STEVE WINWOOD...
This 1972 session might not be as tight as the Howlin' Wolf Sessions, granted, but there's some great stuff here, nonetheless, including some fine slow blues cuts with Rory Gallagher on lead guitar. Rory often stated that Muddy was his primary influence, and the Irish bluesman paid tribute to the sessions by including a cover of "Who's Gonna Be Your Sweet Man When I'm Gone"-- as "I Wonder Who"-- on his legendary Irish Tour live album. Musicians for the Muddy sessions are just as impressive as the Wolf line-up: Besides Rory on guitar, there's Rick Grech (Family, Blind Faith): bass; Steve Winwood (Traffic, Blind Faith): piano & organ; Georgie Fame: piano & organ; and Mitch Mitchell (JImi Hendrix Experience): drums. A piece of history.

There's so many better blues albums out there.

well, this album is absolutely wonderful. that said, it is not Howlin' Wolf London good. minus eric clapton nothing can be as good however this album delivers a strong blues catalog full of pure listening enjoyment. BUY IT!
