Faux/Evil/Brilliant

Those who were patiently and agonizingly waiting for the follow-up to "This=Everything" will find it in the tracks interspersed between "The Last Day EP," "Lights Out" from the "Bloom EP," and "Someone Else's Dream." It leaves one only to wonder why the album never came to beautiful fruition. That said, "Look In My Eyes EP" is superb sounding and well-written. A recommended buy, especially for National Skyline fans. Even moreso for those of us that couldn't get enough of the first three releases and waited years through the are-they-or-aren't-they-together phase. Garber delivers another solid album.

National Skyline's indie rock conceptions began as a solo project of Hum bassist Jeff Dimpsey. Beginning as an idea to create a 45-minute composition in his hometown, Champaign, IL, in 1996, National Skyline eventually became a composite band with an always-changing lineup. After getting together a set consisting of Nicky Macri, formerly with C-Clamp and Euphone, Derek Niedrighaus, previously with Castor and Sarge, and Jeff Garber, another former member of Castor, Dimpsey ultimately managed to materialize...
