Another masterwork
A lot of downtempo/chillout artists seem to be on an extended hiatus, but luckily DJ Cam is still around, making great new records that build on his signature sounds without recycling them. Two things are exceedingly rare in today's pantheon of music...excellence and value. DJ Cam flawlessly samples an eclectic blend of source material, and proceeds to flip it and bounce it. Nice, mellow groove throughout. After some skunk hits, push play and marinate.
I Wish Music This Easy To Listen To. . .
. . . Was this easy to make, but it quite emphatically is not. And my actual rating is 4.5 stars. It would've been 5, but, ironically, this record is too short. A brilliant, smooth mood this sweet should last longer. Retro-futuristic, analog-digital pimp-hop, with differing vibes all of-a-piece, and complete, whole sound-worlds sculpted without any excess or fluff. Heavens, how do these euro boys rock it like this? Listening to this record is like seeing a lithe, bronzed goddess emerging from the ocean in Cannes, all black bikini and red lips; this has the same concupiscent indifference, the same swaggering, sexy oblivious timelessness. One of the few albums that most I fervently wish for a Part Two companion piece.
