For fans of Manchester who are looking for a refresher

From its sing-along "oh-oh-oh"'s on A Mad Desire to Dance to the swung doubled guitar parts on Oh To Sleep, to the haunting vocals akin to Manchester Orchestra, Behold the Brave delivers an EP that sounds enough like the bands you like to make you immediately connect with the songs, while retaining their own personal signature. Don't be mistaken - this isn't just a rehashing of your indie collection. Take The Woods, for instance - a beautiful major-7-laden melodic section builds into a big chorus, then brings some horns into the mix.

A tip of the hat to straight Rock and Roll is somewhere buried in the layers as well.

Their live show holds the same (if not more) energy as what you'll find in these five jewels.

Pick this one up - and watch out for a full length.

Tennessees Best

Lost in the Woods may be the best EP of 2010. Clayton Davis' lyrics paint a picture that's altogether haunting and beautiful, and all the while poignant. This five song effort is overflowing with hook after hook leaving you wanting so much more after the final Chorus of "The Woods" is sung for the last time. Zach Randolph's lead guitar parts add a flavor to these songs that only his incredibly tasteful licks could add. And let's not forget about Joel's infectious bass-lines and perfect vocal harmonies. This EP is perfect. Do yourself a favor and pick it up.

love it!

this is the best ep i have heard in a long time. i thought rock and roll was dead, well behold the brave brings it back to life! the vocals can't be topped and the bands not bad lookin' either.
