Riveting Soundtrack

Amazing soundtrack! It really elevates the show to a whole other level. I love how each main character has his or her own theme, and these tracks listed below have most of those themes in them. Romancing the Cage, Under the Knife, Distraught Desmond, Ocean's Apart, Claire-A Culpa, Dharmacide, Greatest Hits, Flying High, Looking Glass Half Full, and Naomi Phone Home. Awesome show, awesome soundtrack. Buy it! "Live Together, Die Alone"

A masterful piece of work by Giacchino

I don't typically write reviews, but this soundtrack is truly a must-have for any LOST fan. There are myriad standout tracks, but I think the one that displays the widest range (and Giacchino's unique ability to capture antithetical emotions simultaneously), while keeping you fully engaged is 'Looking Glass Half Full'. Not only is this song associated with possibly the saddest scene to date in LOST, it truly takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride. Opening with riveting chords, you are seemingly thrust into a frantic speed that lures you to the edge of your seat, and then suddenly you are hit with an intrusion of emotional weep that only amplifies as the piano keys intensify. The transitions are emphatic, yet so gracefully subtle. Even for a guy, it was impossible to bottle my emotion. While I’ll forever remember this scene as Charlie’s heroic act, Giacchino deserves the credit for assembling such an astounding composition of music. Other favorite tracks worthy of Charlie’s greatest hits are Pagoda of Shame, Distraught Desmond (Desmond has possibly my favorite theme), Deadly Fertility, The Good, the Bad, and the Ominous, and all of the songs that incorporate the “adventure” theme (i.e. The Good Shepard, The Only Pebble in the Jungle). Simply put, for $20, this is an absolute steal.

Okay, enough with the clever puns, already! ( Well, have you noticed the clever titles Michael Giacchino gives his cues??) This collection of music cues from Season 3 of the most entertaining and mysterious shows on television today is remarkable. If you're a LOST fan and Michael Giacchino fan like me, you will cherish this 2-CD collection. CD 1 (tracks 1 - 30) is a collection of some of the best cues from all of the season 3 episodes, whereas CD 2 (tracks 31 - 66) features every single music cue used in the amazing 2-part season finale "Through The Looking Glass". This is a generous treasure trove of music from the brilliant Mr. Giacchino! Don't hesitate...buy it NOW!
