Album Review

Love Has No Recession is another deep and rich set of modern soul from Aja Graydon and Fatin Dantzler. Despite a label change, the Philadelphia duo remains true to the approach that has earned it a devoted following. The material grapples with romantic, familial, financial, and racial issues in a sobering but hopeful and ultimately uplifting way. It’s a bit overloaded with guest spots; Snoop Dogg sounds out of place, even though he tones it down a bit, and a go-go cut with Chuck Brown doesn’t reach liftoff. Several songs here rank among Dantzler and Graydon’s best and most lyrically frank output, from the classic-sounding ballad “Magic Happens” to rhythmically beefier productions like “We All Will Know” and “Take a Look Around.”

Fantastic cd

I love Kindreds's music. It's consistently good music that you love for years and don't get tired of. Lots of great songs. So glad I got it. They are definitely underrated and I would love to hear more of this type of good clean music on the radio versus a lot of the garbage that get so much air time.

Kindred the Family Soul is an adult contemporary R&B duo from Philadelphia consisting of husband and wife Fatin Dantzler and Aja Graydon. Both began as solo performers. Dantzler was born in Philadelphia and got his start in the music business writing songs for Pebbles and Bell Biv DeVoe. Graydon, from Washington, D.C., had a solo deal at the age of 15. The two united and began writing songs, but then married and started a family, necessitating the steady income of work outside the music business....
