fantastic and inventive punk rock
this band reminds me of a bizzare and noisy lovechild of james chance, darby crash and iggy pop. angular buzzing guitars, tangled and screeching saxophone, pounding relentless drums and a precise and powerful bassline. absolutely magical.
Bends the very definitions of punk
If you're new to TPTBUTET you probably won't like this album at first. But once you've listened several times and sorted the nonstop musical flow, you'll find that here is an incredibly original punk rock album that will leave you flat on the floor with its relentless barrage. A must-buy.

Taking their name from a book by Greil Marcus, the Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower formed in San Diego, CA, in 2001, comprised of Brandon Welchez (vocals/sax), Chuck Rowell (guitar), Brian Hill (drums), and Dan Maier (bass). They appeared on the scene with a cacophonous jazz-punk-hardcore hybrid on the 2003 full-length Dissertation, Honey, released through Happy Couples Never. The band followed up with the If You Cut Us, We Bleed EP, which showed its sound beginning to veer away from jazz overtones...
