iTunes Review

Love is My Religion, Ziggy Marley’s second solo album away from the Melody Makers (the band he formed with his three brothers) is even more of a one-man show than 2003’s Dragonfly. Then he was joined by an all-star cast of musicians; this time, in addition to writing all of the songs, he also played most of the instruments and produced the majority of the tracks, so he’s in control from start to finish. This approach gives Love is My Religion a singular focus, though it’s certainly less diverse or adventurous than what he created with the Melody Makers. With the exception of “Black Cat,” with its ska bounce and honking sax line, and a spare acoustic take on the title track, most of the tunes stick to the roots reggae formula that he knows so well. And that’s not a bad thing. With its pleas for brotherhood, tolerance, and peace, and its focus on pressing social and political issues, Love is My Religion is a feel-good dose of positivity.

keep the love comin

wow another great album form ziggy, this album gets down and has some great melodys too. i've never been disapointed in anything ziggy has his hands in. THANK YOU ZIGGY.

Funtastic, great times, everyone get's happy.

This guy should get the just deserts he deserves for being a great artist, rather than be lauded for being the son of a great artist. Don't let his last name fool you, he has great talent unto himself. Sure, I like Bob, everyone like's Bob Marley, but this isn't a Bob Marley album, this is Ziggy Marley, another human being. And he has talent unto himself worth praising, this is fine reggae, rock hard, and hate bush more than Satan. However, don't be a sucker honkey, Beach in Hawaii is a love ballad, solely written to get some sweet trim, but whatevers, we all do what we have to get the bearded clam.

Anyone from this family is a genius

Yet another amazing album from the Marley family. This album combines reggae, African, and ska beats to make an awesome album. Some key tracks are "Into the Groove," and "Black Cat."

The oldest son of reggae legend Bob Marley and his wife Rita, Ziggy Marley was the natural heir to the throne left vacant by his father's untimely 1981 death. Along with backing band the Melody Makers, a unit comprised of his brothers and sisters, he successfully carried on the tradition of communicating the music's message to a growing global audience, even scoring a U.S. Top 40 single in the process — a claim neither of his parents could make. Born David Marley in Kingston, Jamaica on October...
