iTunes Review

Jesse Malin’s love for classic rock ‘n’ roll — Lou Reed, Bruce Springsteen, the Ramones, Paul Westerberg — has never been in doubt and over the years he has tried a number of ways to make the connection with audiences that would surely love his music if they were to hear it. He has Bruce Springsteen’s endorsement and with Love It to Life, perhaps, he will finally connect with the mainstream as tunes such as “Burning the Bowery,” “All The Way From Moscow” and the Mink DeVille-like soul of “Lowlife In a Highrise” bleed with a mix of rock ‘n’ roll blood that recalls the passion of the ‘70s without surrendering completely to the era that gave rise to Malin’s truest convictions. “The Archer” and “St. Marks Sunset” sweeten up the slow lane. “Disco Ghetto” strikes up a band that’s learned how to crank up the Rolling Stones grind flawlessly. Malin’s one of the truest rockers on the scene, a man born with a rock ‘n’ roll heart. It’s high time for him to connect with an audience who knows how to add enthusiasm to a readymade anthem such as “Burn the Bridge.”

Love It To Life

A great album is often one which you don't take to on first listen. The albums that you listen to and immediately like are the ones that are going to be relegated to storage pretty quickly. This album gnaws away at you with its hooks and catchy riffs. "Six shots and I feel like a soldier..." "All my friends are dead or in business..." ""Watch the dirty river roll by/ and we'll medicate the culture so you're high and dry..." They draw you in and the next thing you know, you've listened to St. Mark's Sunset eight times in a row because you don't want that luxurious feeling from the song to end. And then with All The Way From Moscow... and same with all of the others. This is a fabulous record and it ranks right up there with the Best of Malin! Keep the PMA!

Been listening to this cd over and over. Great Clash and U2 riffs plus Jesse's power punk. Many great grooves. Can't get Ghetto Disco and Burning The Bowery out of my head. Go see Jesse live!

Solid Rock Album

If you are a Butch Walker solo fan, you'll dig this guy! Keep rockin'!
