OMG - I'll just put it in a Nutshell
Please ignore the clown who said that the album is 'scary.' HIM's lyrics are very deep, and only sound scary if one takes the song titles word for word. The music is absolutely amazing, putting you into a state of temporary 'beautiful melancholy' until the song ends. This is not a suicide-causing album. That comes from darker music such as emo. I am a psychologist, and I will admit that although HIM's music and song titles are a big strange at first, the music itself is very deep, symbolic, and even mature. Always remember, that in HIM's music 'death' is a SYMBOL. Not physical death. It represents turning away from the world and society to hide away in a distance place. Since HIM's lyrics are about LOVE AND DEATH... it actually means running away with the person whom you love to not have to go through the BS of society. I strongly reccomend this album.
BRILLIANT COMPILATION
HIM is an awsome band with a talent for writing song lyrics that comes only once in a generation. With heavy licks and almost opera-like vocals, HIM is one of the most unigue bands to come out of Finland. this is a great compilation of HIM's best pre-Dark Light songs. if you want a good feeling for HIM's genius, this is a great place to look.

And Love Said No is the album to own. If you are new to HIM then this one album will grab you, wrap you up in its dark loving embrace and never let you go. Ville's enchanting voice will be sure to keep you coming back for more. 5 stars go to And Love Said No: The Greatest Hits '97-'04
