Against All Odds is from ‘A Hot Night in Paris’
by Jazzcat02I have the original 2 CDs and Against All Odds is a vocal. The iTunes version is from ‘A Hot Night in Paris’. Putting that to bed, Phil is extremely talented considering that he doesn’t read music and that doesn’t seem to stop his creativity from being a Songwriter, Musician, to an Actor and playing more than 4 instruments.
It would have been nice to have Why Can’t I Wait Till Morning, which was recorded with Fourplay on the ‘Elixir’ Album.
I just hope that he keeps recording for many more years.
This is a great buy

Nothing special...
by JibrilAbdI only bought this album (CD version) for the previously unreleased tracks- those being 'Tearing And Breaking', 'I've Been Trying', 'The Way You Look Tonight', 'Somewhere' (from the West Side Story tribute album) and the live versions of 'My Girl' and 'Always'. These are all good songs for a Phil/Genesis enthusiast to have in their collection. Other than these, there really isn't anything special about this album (except perhaps to Phil). This may be a good starting point for someone who is interested in Phil's music and is thinking about purchasing other albums, but for those of us who already have those albums, or those of us who aren't really into a collection of love songs, it's not worth the buy.
