Pointless
by Benjamin J.F.Want to write about love? That's okay. Want to write about the simple pleasures in life? That's also okay. Want to mush these two concepts together? That doesn't work. The result is a song that is clearly aimed squarely at the charts and that even downgrades the object of one's affections. If you want to have a place among the legends of country music, you've got to be, not just a singer-songwriter, but a true ARTIST. Furthermore, the melody of this song is not very well suited to Eric's voice. The fact that he curses several times in the song doesn't help either. Is this guy even capable of putting out a truly great song?
(Go ahead, Eric Church fans, click the "No" button. Yeah, I know my review wasn't helpful because you didn't agree with it. Who cares if it was well-written and gave specific reasons for my dislike of the song?)
