Joel Murach is a great songwriter!

I had the pleasure of hearing Joel play the last track on this album, On the Banks of the Old San Joaquin, live -- it's an unbellievably beautiful song, alt-country on par with some of Ryan Adams' songs, and reminds me of old folk classics -- Woody Guthrie, Willie Nelson. But what's surprising about this album is the sheer variety in it -- listening to Skeleton Head you would never think it's by the same band. It's a really good listen start to finish, and makes me wish I'd learned of this band a long time ago.
