Album Review

Each release in the Rockabye Baby! series takes the best-known songs of a particular artist and places them in a lullaby processor that involves chimes, bells, and vibraphones — renditions that are slightly more involved than the music that comes out of the average baby mobile. Whether the original versions are heavy and aggressive or light and subdued, these lullaby versions are uniformly appropriate for their purpose. And, in some cases, they even happen to tease out an unlikely amount of melodicism not apparent in the originals. The Tool volume features versions of "The Grudge," "The Patient," "Sober," "Lateralus," "Sweat," "Schism," and "Parabola."

what the ef?

If you're a Tool fan, then the reviews of TOOL being dark and hopeless probably seem foolish to you, as they do to me. Any TOOL fan that actually listens to the songs with an intelligent ear would probably be happy to let their child listen to intelligent music. I'm sure your child won't find to many dark messages hidden between lyrics like "if there were no desire to heal the damaged and broken met along, I certainly would have walked away by now", and "embrace my desire to witness the beauty". Seriously, if you don't want your kid to hear messages like that, then you might want to rethink your parental capabilities. Besides, with the BABYROCKS release, THERE'S NO WORDS! Which is something you would know, if you actually listen to the previews before forming and opinion. So never mind the fools, check it out for yourself. I personally think it's a great idea, and I'm glad they pulled off TOOL so well with this.

Whats wrong with people

this isnt disturbing, people only think of it as distrurbing because they listened to the original songs first, so they associate the lyrics with the music, tools insturmentals are complex and melodic, compare these songs to symphonies and notice how the tunes similarly interweave, the musical scores like 6.5/8 which are commonplace in tool's music are perfect for a growing mind, nothing like good old subconcious math to teach em and lul them to sleep, try it and laugh when other peoples children are struggling to count to twenty, your kid is asking you about the measurments he took on the house and is worried about the structural integrity

Great CD

I love tools music and I think this CD is perfect for kids to listen to. Although it is a little dark, it will not warp your kids mind. In fact letting your kid listen to this will probably help their development. If you want your kids to grow up to be great musicians I would say this is a good place to start.
