Old and new, east and west . . . .
For a guy with so many muscles, Afshin sure can make some "gheri" music. It's refershing to hear some real insturments in persian pop. I love the lyrics on track 3, combined with the dancing beat. The title track beckons one to sing along and has a great party feel. But the highlight of the album is "Bikhial", combining German R&B and persian singing. It brings to mind a dark room where a burly moustachioed man sits with his suit jacket over his shoulders drinking Araq. He is lured out of his chair by a curvaceous woman who uses his hat in her dance. And the lyrics complete the experience by inviting the listener to drink up, dance, and "forget about it." All in all, I haven't been this excited about Persian pop since I discovered Sandy a few years back.
