Cataclysmic
Joe Alessi evokes the god Dionysus in a performance that is elemental, triumphant, and, yes, perhaps more than human. This piece devastates and then exalts - not to be missed.
A must hear
John Mackey's music is some of the most alive and spirited music I've ever heard. This piece has it all, beautiful sweeping melodies, rhythmic complexity, and flat out in your face playing on the part of Joe Alessi. An absolutely stellar performance of an INCREDIBLE piece!
Great!
Great performance by Alessi, as well as the West Point Band. John Mackey studied composition with John Corigliano and Donald Erb. Exciting composer with lots to say in his compositions. Highly recommended!! His Soprano Sax Concerto is also a really cool work. Great Composer.
