Customer Reviews
Vivacious
Mahler in the hands of Valery Gergiev and the LSO, what better? The maestro's gusto emboldens the piece, with all four movements standouts. Good on iTunes to make the second available free. A wonderful album. Check out Gergiev's new Mariinski label as well, with three Grammy nominations for the first two releases and the latest wonderful as well.
Nice try
The overall performance is quite good, of course. However, the final movement loses all meaning if it isn't sung by a boy soprano as originally written by Mahler. A female alto or soprano just doesn't have nearly the same effect. Sorry.
Mahler Symphony No. 4
Mahler is almost as good as honey. Beautiful, even on the speakers of my iphone...
