Album Review

Produced by Teddy Riley, Keith Sweat's debut, Make It Last Forever, exploded all over urban and pop stations and remains the brightest star in Sweat's galaxy of LPs. Sweat's pleading, whining tenor adroitly draws you into every song, demanding an emotional commitment. Who can't relate to "Something Just Ain't Right" and "Right and a Wrong Way," two tense, stunning realizations. The hip-hop beats and plucky guitar of "I Want Her" put new jack swing on the map; it was Sweat's first single release and topped Billboard's R&B chart the week of January 30, 1988. All eight tracks are impressive, with his rendition of Tony Hester's "In the Rain," popularized by the Dramatics, equaling and possibly surpassing the original.

One of the Ultimate Slow Jam CD of all time

This CD, released in 1987, has longevity. I have bought this CD over 7 times ... why? It's one of the best CDs on the planet. From his soulful, sultry ballad 'Make it last forever' with Jacci Mcghee, to his baby-making anthem, 'Right and a Wrong Way,' there is no other CD that ushered in the New Jack swing like this one. Sure, he's no Marvin Gaye, but for the record, Track 2, 'Right and a Wrong Way' is guranteed to have your significant others clothes off within seconds. They just magically disappear. I love this CD ... if I had only one CD to rock on my iPod, it would be this. No foreplay needed ... just jam this CD. Personal note: I have had carloads of women stop their car and jam off this CD. And I am talking some hawtiez! The ultimate 12-Play while R. Kelly was still trying to get through puberty ...

hmmm

i was 16 when this was came out and full of testosterone. i had been with girls before in different instances, but with this album i started to realize how wonderful the fragrance of a women was. wow, what an eye opening album and part of life. life and women are such beautiful blessings.

This is a soothing time machine

I remember rolling in my 88 Blazer bump'n "How deep is your love" and the bass just massaged my mind, body and soul. I never had to change the tape! It just kept play'n great beats, lyrics and melodies. This album, for me, defines a great portion of my life and timeless just doesn't fit to describe this work. The only way to describe this and other works that last is to say they are gifts to humanity, true monuments for the soul!
