Good Ol REM!!!!

R.E.M has always been a great refreshing band to listen to when so many types of music today follow in line exactly with each other. This E.P. Is great and sounds different than old fashioned REM, actually they sound a little bit more like the REM i knew way back when. Great Job guys.

Give Me Some!

I would quickly nominate "Man-Sized Wreath," the best song off of R.E.M.'s best since Automatic For the People (and certainly the best album of the year so far), as the song of year. It's truly infectious chorus (the second time the chorus comes around is what MAKES THIS SONG!), angry lyrics, and exclamations of "OW!" make it almost unrivaled by any songs this year (Gnarls Barkley does come close with two cuts, "Charity Case" and "Who's Gonna Save My Soul," who come close). Surely check it out. And the two b-sides, both live cuts ("Living Well Jesus Dog" is really a live version of "Living Well is the Best Revenge") are a bit muddy, but certainly worth it for us R.E.M. fanatics. I still have my membership to the fan club.

WHERE'S THE VIDEO?

Enough said by the title, but a spectacular song from an awesome album.

While there were a number of hardcore and punk bands in the U.S. during the early '80s, R.E.M. brought guitar pop back into the underground lexicon. Combining ringing guitar hooks with mumbled, cryptic lyrics and a D.I.Y. aesthetic borrowed from post-punk, the band simultaneously sounded traditional...
