A Perfect Mix of Pop and Acoustic

The Beatles-influenced sound is great for Sam Phillips, who has been developing her own unique musical direction for years. The quirky timing, acoustic beat, and mix between folk and electronic is all Sam Phillips, somehow both dark and fun. Her cover of Lennon's Gimme Some Truth is powerful-- a perfect song to yell in your car-- but they all come from a hard place, questioning the pain in the world. Yet, somehow the album is not about pain. It is John Lennon on anti-depressents.
