Customer Reviews

Excellent

Great live blues. And if you need any further encouragement This is the guy who sang the theme song "In the Heat of the Night" for the TV series, probably with all do respect to Ray Charles the best version ever!

Musicianship

This is a hot disc. The players accompanying Champlin are some of the best. The songs and production are first rate. If you have never heard, or heard of Bill Champlin this would be a good place to start. The playing on "After the Love is Gone" which Champlin co-wrote is excellent. This disc is full of songs that should have been hits. Party Time in DC is as relevent now as it ever was. Southern Serenade is written, played and sung beautifully. Champlins wife, Tamara makes a gutsy appearence on "Backstreets of Paradise". BUY IT. YOU WONT BE DISAPOINTED.
