simply the best atmospheric black metal around, along with Darkspace
this is black metal that is beautiful, yet heavy, soothing, yet heavy, melodic, though dissonant. This music transports you to an icy dark forest filled with pine trees and snow. If you want to listen to something truly incredible, listen to Coldworld, the most beautiful black metal ever (along with darkspace),
ATMOSPHERIC BLACK METAL LIKE NO OTHER
This album is so good it should please fans of several genres past the realms of black metal but still stays completley true to black metal. The title of the album perfectly describes the sounds you will find within. Depressive, Meloncholy, Loss, are just some of the feelings Coldworld will mesmerize you with. I have no doubt that years from now this will be considered a classic.
Melancholie²: Possibly the best BM release of 2008
ColdWorld was a band that I first noticed upon the release of TheStarsAreDeadNow, the one man project's first release. I gave it a few listens, thought "that was pretty good," and then I forgot about it until people started raving about the release of Melancholie² back in '08. I listened to it, and i was blown away on the first song. The use of acoustic guitars, keyboards, clean vocals backing the growls, violins, etc. just add to the amazing atmosphere of this band's music. This music is perfect for any fan of depressive black metal or atmospheric black metal, or maybe any general black metal fan. One of my favorite releases of '08, suprised to see it on iTunes.
