Muffler Drives it Home
A very in depth and personal release from DJ Muffler. Both the songs on this EP really indulge in deep emotion and spacious atmospheres. "Mermaids" has an intense drum line throughout its 6 minutes. Muffler adds many great concepts to keep your attension, adding things like flamenco guitar and a vocal sample resembling something of The Prodigy to follow. "Waves Breaking" is more of an ambient song, but this certainly does not compromise its integrity. The lead sample used draws in the listener from very beginning, and that which follows does not disappoint. I bought this EP a while back and still listen to both songs to this day. Buy both songs and support an underground artist that is generally underrated. You won't regret it.
Worth the two bucks
If I took the total cost of the LP and divided it by the number of times I have listened to these songs, It would be a penny per listen.
Its sort of like trance minus the cheese and the exuberance with a sweet dnb beat. I have no trouble imagining myself standing on the edge of a seaside cliff, with the wind in my face.
I just wish I knew of more songs like this.
Unique Enviromental Drum & Bass
The songs develop and have a way to not only take over you, but surround you as well. It has the combined strength of epic trance and the industrial feel of Drum & Bass which altogether make for a powerful and seemingly uplifting experience. If their music was to be compared with anyone it would be with Noisia.
