merry christmas- the supremes

strictly said!!!! the gr8test holiday album of all time!! all songs are well arranged and performed...

A Supreme Christmas

The reason I think The Supremes didn't deliver another Christmas album is they would break-up by 1970 and recording a follow up to this album and have it as successful would be a feat. All the songs are beautifully performed and the bonus tracks at the end, especially Florence Ballard's soaring soprano lead on "Silent Night" justify's the trio's success but not her being pushed into the background . The arrangements lean more toward traditional, the ballad and single "Twinkle Twinkle Little Me" embodies the Motown sound and Stevie Wonder's cover doesn't stray far from the version found here. A personal favorite is "Silver Bells." The cd mastering doesn't apologize for the vintage of the material, some of the songs come off a bit distorted but they didn't anticipate digital technology forty years ago but no matter, this cd is as warm and wonderful as the holiday season itself.

Best Christmas Album ever!

This is the album that puts me more in the Christmas spirit better than any other!

There's no question that there was about as much pop...
