A musical embrace

     

With his newest release, "Messy," prolific, modern composer Mark Snyder has created yet another sonic landscape for us to explore, an environment in which we can immerse ourselves for the duration of the recording and emotional experiences that we can take with us long after the initial listening has concluded. Snyder's long association with iconic composer, Kamran Ince is more apparent than ever during these impressionist mood settings, Snyder reproducing Ince's ability to physically take hold of us in a minimalist embrace, not releasing until the final notes have died away. The depth of the experiences and associations that led to the creation of these pieces gives them a significance and spiritual meaning even beyond those in Snyder's previous work, signifying the emergence of a truly mature and developed musical voice.
