Album Review
Mi Sangre is the awaited follow-up to the hugely successful Un Día Normal, the multi-Latin Grammy-winning and best-selling Latin album of 2003, which made Juanes a star. Although he has a different background than many Latin stars, now it's hard to tell the difference between him and the rest. His music and words sound more conventional than ever. Like Un Día Normal's lyrics, Mi Sangre's are hopeful and romantic. There are many love songs ("Amame," "Para Tu Amor," "Nada Valgo sin Tu Amor") and a couple of naïve looks over reality ("Qué Pasa?" and "Sueños"). Musically, this album is rawer than its predecessor. amazing album
i live in buenos aires, argentina and he is really popular down here - now i see why. before i moved here from the states i had never heard of him. i went to his concert last night and fell in love with him. he is not only amazing on the album, but spectacular live. he has an interesting quality to his voice and an amazing gift of writing. thank you juanes for making such great music!
The Best!
This is the best artist I've listened to in a very long time. Every song is well written and the musical talent is out of this world. I have heard this album at least 500 times and it still sounds great. I don't know what it is. The songs lift you up. If you are looking for a new sound, great guitar licks and melody, look no further. Inspirational is the only word I can think of. I have taken up guitar lessons because of this artist. Highly recomemded!
Mi Sangre is AWESOME!!!
I got this album on the day of it's release. I couldn't stop listening to it. This album is probably the best one he's done so far. Actually, it is because he won 3 Grammys with it. I would recommend this CD to anyone who is a die-hard Juanes fan like me, because the music is beautiful and the lyrics ROCK. He also shows his talent with the guitar throughout the whole album. JUANES ROCKS!!!! I would just like to add that, in my opinion, Juanes blows Shakira out of the water!!! He is SO much better than her. The only song I have from Shakira is "La Tortura" because it's the only one I like. ThoughI don't like her as a singer, she is a pretty cool person. But I am a huge fan of Juanes and I think he is the best the Latin music industry has seen in a very long time. He has excellent talent and he sings from the soul, something that very few people have. VIVA JUANES!!!!!
