Worth The Wait!

All I can say is she has most definatly been missed. This new record is stunning. Although not as defining or memorable as her debut Listen , which is my all time favorite album, Michelle's new self titled effort is certainly no step back like her dissapointing Dream . Michelle proves that she is a master creator with her finely crafted lyrics, refreshingly original melodies, and her haunting vocals. Although it is common knowledge with fans that she writes and plays her own work, it might be (even as talented as she is ) a surprise to know that she even conducted the orchestra on Fair Weather . What can this artist not do. She experiments with a few different musical stylings while staying on familiar ground and incorporates some daring vocals as on the elating song Yearning which doesn't sound like anything she has attempted before. She goes back to more moving and haunting ballads with Break Though and Far and gives a beautiful close with Hold On To Jesus which brings her Life Is Beautiful to mind. Over all a stellar effort from an artist who is by far the model for creative and introspective artistry. Well done

Excellent

Michelle Tumes is back!!! After five years, she finally releases a new album. And it's excellent. It's a combination of her first two CDs "Listen" and "Center of My Universe". The lyrics are beautifully woven into a sensational musical atmosphere breathed into life by her trademark vocals. Highlights of the CD are "Far", "Fair Weather", "Break Through" and "Caelum Infinitum".

Great artist, great songs.

This is Michelle's first self produced album, and everything's come together for her. The songs, the players, the moments... everything. Fans of Listen and Center of My Universe will find themselves in territory that they remember so well and fondly. Check out Fair Weather, Let it Rain, and Yearning, as my personal favorites on the record.

CCM singer/songwriter Michelle Tumes was born in Adelaide, Australia, and began studying piano at the age of four. While in her teens, she enrolled in a two-year classical piano program, an experience which left her so disillusioned about performing that she instead turned to studying dentistry. At that point, her little sister gave Tumes $40 she had saved from her paper route in order to convince her older sibling to cut a demo; she agreed, sending the tape unsolicited to a variety of publishing...
