Album Review

Though there are a few queasy pop/vocal tracks, Moroder's soundtrack to Midnight Express earns points for an array of exploratory synthesizer pieces (including "Wheel" and "Cacaphoney") as well as its opener, "Chase." One of Moroder's biggest hits, the track bounces back and forth between melodic disco and hypnotic sequencer trance just one step removed from the likes of Tangerine Dream.

LOVE IT!!!!!

The Chase is really good, also the opening theme song to the late night talk show Coast to Coast AM.

One of the Best Soundtracks of All Time

One of the best modern era soundtracks, with The Chase standing the test of time. I could not get this song out of my head for the life of me after hearing it back in the late 70's when I was a mere 5-6 years old. Moroder is simply ahead of his time. I once heard a remix at the old Groovejet in South Beach back in 1995 during Winter Music conference, that blew my socks off. It was mixed with samples of Moroder other songs performed by Donna Summer. The other songs on the album very Moroder with Turkish instrument vibes, not as great as The Chase but still good. If you have seen the movie Midnight Express you will know that Moroder's scoring which earned an Oscar btw, was impeccable.

The music is ok but better in the game :-)
