Gifted with a gutsy voice and eloquent songwriting touch, Sarah Kelly upholds her past high standards on Midnight Sun. As a singer, Kelly combines the ache and yearning of the blues with a delicate, almost mystical folk sensibility. On this album she applies her multi-faceted style to both corporate praise numbers and more intimate singer/songwriter-style tunes. Her ability to convey strength and tenderness in a single song gives “Standing On My Knees,” “Live Every Love Song” and similar worship numbers a heart-tugging immediacy. Buoyant tunes like “Good Day” and “Surely Goodness” are uplifting without excessive sweetness; more quietly intense numbers like “How Much You Love” and the title tune face down the shadows of fear and sorrow. Kelly shows off her gospel chops on “Lift You Up,” a slinky track with a message of devotion. She likewise is equal to the arena-rock sound of “Day And Night,” an expansive paean to the Creator. As both an expression of faith and an eclectic, confident collection of songs, Midnight Sun truly shines.

I love Sarah Kelly. She truly has a heart for God. She's not singing to make money, or to buy a fancy car. She sings to make a difference. This album is FANTASTIC. It might even be my favorite album by her. I highly reccomend this album.
I love it!
This recording is both modern and comfy to wear as your favorite jeans. The styles are freshly touched and the songs catchy as much as they are meaningful. Sarah's compellingly unique voice and tastefully crafted lyric combine well to make a recording that is likely to capture the listener right away and yet draw you in deeper. This is not a typical Christian album as it sounds like it belongs on major market radio!
