Album Review

On their seventh studio album, Miracle, Nonpoint continue trudging down the same alt-metal path that they started on over a decade ago. Rather than taking off in any bold new directions, the band does what it does best and delivers another album of heavy, hard rocking riffage. The marching chug of “Crazy” shows off Nonpoint’s straightforward, no-nonsense approach to songwriting. These guys aren’t worried about redefining the genre, and to that end there’s no virtuoso magic or studio trickery at work. But that’s not really the point of a band like this. It’s not about “sparkle and wow,” but is instead about serving up a big ol’ plate of giant guitars and rock-solid songwriting. The most impressive part is that while Nonpoint have been honing their craft and working off the same formula for a while now, the music doesn’t feel soulless. There’s still plenty of passion in Elias Soriano’s vocals, and Zach Broderick’s guitar riffs don’t feel like retreads of their older work. Whatever songwriting formula these guys have worked out for themselves, it seems to be working just fine after all this time. Miracle is certain to please Nonpoint fans, and could easily make converts out of lovers of Godsmack or Disturbed.

Love it from 0:01

Nonpoint has been a band to always try their hardest, come out with incredible records, and give incredible shows. Needless to say, Miracle is a fantastic album, filled with different emotions.
Shadow - Gets your head swinging and them devil horns up in seconds.
Miracle - Nonpoint and Chad Gray, isn't that enough? As Sportscenter proved by picking to play this song, it is in awesome fight song.
Crazy - Is a drum filled frenzy that makes you lose your mind.
Frontlines - lowers the tempo and takes it serious, but you respect it, and fall in love with that song from the first time you hear it.
Looking Away - another devil horns, arm swinging, head banging metal song.
Electricity - Seems to take Zach's guitar playing and energizes this song to an awesome song to just appreciate the band that is Nonpoint.
What You've Got For Me - Elias continues to have those Nonpoint esque lyrics and makes quite a well written metal song.
Throwing Stones - Wow, well beside Looking Away and Crazy, i would have to say this is my favorite song on Miracle. Seems to have some deep feelings in it and Elias puts alot of emotion into his voice for this song.
5 Minutes Alone - Are you kidding me? Pantera? At first I was worried about Elias trying to attempt Phil's voice, thats just not him, but wow. He took a different vocal approach and just amazed me and most likely many other fans.
What I've Become - A good song with, once again, alot of emotion from Elias. The beat is a steady and fast beat but with some deep lyrics it seems.
Dangerous Waters - Keeps the head pounding and gets you in a pit in a matter of seconds. A fast song to show that the entire band is just still pounding out songs that will soon be noticed and praised.
Lucky #13 - What an incredible first song, then the bluesy second song, which starts at 9:54, represent Ft. Lauderdale, the bluesy song is just one to lie back and reflect on what a good album it is and how the purchase was well worth it.

Great CD, but may not be for original Nonpoint lovers

I have been a fan of Nonpoint for a long time, and really think that this could be one of their best efforts yet. I say this with caution though. In this album they really stretch out on a limb. They do keep some of their gasoline-fulled full-throttle thrashing and screaming, but also go for a much more precise and well-defined sound. Much of the album showcases how beautiful Nonpoint can sound and how talented they are as a group, but if you only love thrashing then you might come up a little disappointed. The album as a whole is amazing. Let go of what you thought Nonpoint was and embrace it. Yes, it's a little more pop, but it's also a lot more exciting, beautiful, and intricate. Do not hesitate to buy this album. It straight-up rocks!

THEIR MASTERPIECE!!!

Buy it... It's the best Nonpoint album yet! Every song is great and I can't stop listening!
